    The last two years have been very intense for the DSpace community. A great effort has been put into finalizing the development of a DSpace release, 7.0, which has many changes from previous releases, particularly with regard to UI technology. As part of the activities related to the creation of DSpace 7, particularly innovative is the submission and workflow process that can be associated with the different collections. The presentation will provide a deep dive into the new Enhanced Submission and Workflow features of DSpace 7, including how to configure, customize & use this feature (and differences with DSpace 6 and below)

    New functionalities of the euroCRIS' DSpace-CRIS Repository
    The euroCRIS' Repository is based on a DSpace-CRIS installation to support the collection and management of different contents related to the Organisation's activities. The project has started in 2015 mainly focusing on the papers and presentations submitted by euroCRIS' Members for the events but always managing the publications information in a proper CERIF way with people, events and orgunits interlinked to provide rich information. All the past contributions have been added to the system and linked to the different authors, providing also the opportunity to link the Repository to the authors' ORCID profiles.

    DSpace administration issues: the community admin patch
    (2005)
    Donohue, Tim
    ;
    A large or medium repository, but also a small repository in some special cases, needs to allow a more decentralized management of administrative activities as: creation of new communities, creation of new collections, management of submitter and workflow groups, editing of published items, access policies and so on. Until now, DSpace allows only a partial decentralization of this functionalities thought into the role of COLLECTION ADMIN. After highlighting these needs, we will introduce the new role of COMMUNITY ADMIN and the changes made to the COLLECTION ADMIN role by our patch so to fix most of the previous needs. We will talk about the "long history" of this patch, made for the first time by Andrea against the 1.2 series and next kept updated, bug free and XMLUI aware by Tim from the 1.4 series. This "pass the buck", from Andrea to Tim and again together with some other people, shows how useful is for anyone to share results, experiences and customizations with the community so to get them back improved, reducing the cost of locale maintenance, debug and bug fix. We will close the presentation with the good news of the inclusion of this patch in the DSpace codebase for both XMLUI and JSPUI interfaces and also giving some notices about possible improvements in the next future. DSpace-CRIS@HKU: Achieving Visibility with a CERIF Compliant Open Source System
    (2014-07-02) ;
    Mennielli, Michele
    ;
    Abstract The CRIS now at the University of Hong Kong, “HKU Scholars Hub” (the Hub), began as a means to provide visibility to HKU research, people, and their expertise. It now also acts as a tool for management, evaluation and visualization of HKU research. The expected addition of CERIF compliancy to DSpace-CRIS in May 2014, will further enhance the Hub's utility for visibility, collaboration, and benchmarking.
